My best friend Melody picked me up from O'Hare airport and this was our first stop! What a cute place! I love the vibe and the decor and the staff is soo friendly. The General manager stopped by the table to say hello, he was extremely attentive and working right along with the staff. I ordered the veggie skillet. It was potatoes, onions, mushrooms, spinach and of course I added jalapeños. It came topped with 2 over medium eggs and toast. Usually when my eggs are a little brown I don't care for them. But this dish was just flavor, upon flavor! Every element was well seasoned and delicious. I would order this again. My friend had the salmon croquettes with a side of rice. They were huge and delicious, another well seasoned dish. The food here is delicious and pretty to look at. I enjoyed everything and the portions are generous! If you're a local then you should definitely stop in often, don't sleep on this gem. If you're visiting like I am, you will be remembering this dish and wishing you were a local!! 😋

It was my first time here, I ordered the seafood omelet. I asked for egg whites. Unfortunately the waitress brought me the wrong order, skillet with regular eggs. I told her that was not my order and what I asked for, even repeated the same conversation that was said to reassure her, that was not my mistake but hers. I wind up waiting another 20mins for my meal. You would think the waiter would have taken some dollars off or had me pay half for my seafood omelet meal. They only took off $2 from the $24 meal. Her service was good but i think it's best to write stuff down rather than try to remember. Won't be back.

It was our first time here and we will DEFINITELY be back! We arrived around 11:30 on Saturday, so thankfully it wasn’t super crowded. Our server, Bernice was the BEST!! She was personable, informative, funny and attentive! She made us feel like family! We chose 2 entrees that she recommended and they were DELICIOUS!!! Perfectly seasoned, juicy and the hot like it was fresh off of the stove! I had the jerk Alfredo pasta with chicken and I added shrimp & lobster. My husband had the catfish & gumbo with grits. Both dishes were SOOOO good!! You have to try it! The aesthetic of the place was really cute! Fun, smooth music played in the background as we dined. As we were getting ready to leave, we saw a DJ setting up. I would imagine that a DJ playing right next to the tables would get a bit loud, but we left before he began his set; therefore, I cannot speak to that. As we left, we sparked a quick conversation with a security officer named Kool and he was just that! He was friendly, but also about business! He made us feel like it was a safe space. Overall, this place this place is a HIT!! We will be back very soon!!

Tried out Toast it IZ for brunch today for Father's Day. It was a lively and interesting experience. First, the food was good. I enjoyed the Chicken and Banana Pudding Waffles. The chicken was impressively cooked and seasoned well, not dry or over cooked. They served 4 winglets with the meal with my only con is for price should have been full wing portions. But very tasty. My banana pudding waffle was okay a little soagy and had a slight burnt taste. Also, at the table we had catfish poor boy which was well prepared and delicious. The soul food sides of greens, mac and cheese were also well received. Had a couple of cocktails too, the Harlem Mint and Margarita Flight. I found the Harlem Mint a bit sugary for my liking. But overall we enjoyed our food! Now the atmosphere was lively and bumping. In fact much too lively in my group's opinion. There was a DJ blast beats and engaging the crowd well. However, it was too and one could necessarily loud. It made us feel like we were having brunch in a nightclub on the dance floor. We couldn't have conversation as it was much too loud to hear each other. However, many of the patrons there seemed very into this vibe and appeared to be having a fun and festive time. I love music and a lively nightclub atmosphere myself but at the club not at brunch with the family. So, that atmosphere for dining was meh to blah for us. But as I said many there were really into it, just not the type atmosphere I expected for brunch. Go there try the food it good soul cuisine and if you like loud club music vibe this place will be your jam...

I met some friends here for brunch the food was good but the music was extremely loud we were unable to hear each other. They are a bit pricey. I had the mimosa flight it was extremely sweet with barely any champagne in it. Our server was cool.
